According to a 15-year study discussed at the Indoor Air Conference (hosted by www.indair.org), women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than those who work away from home. This includes those of you moms who may not work at home but regularly handle the household cleaning. This is because of your direct exposure to the toxic chemicals you are ingesting on a regular basis due to the fumes that most household cleaners (including air fresheners) give off. This not only affects the person cleaning but can also potentially increase the risk of kids developing asthma, the most common chronic childhood disease.
This statistic is not meant to scare you but simply to educate you on the importance of reducing or eliminating the toxins in your home… or at the very least, being aware!
